Plan it with border rules in mind: no drones, no photos of sensitive facilities or duty details, no shouting across the river, and no casual wandering into controlled zones.

Qingshangou, Qingshan Lake, Feipu Stream, Hutanggou, Manchu Folk Garden and Tianqiaogou Forest Park suit travelers who want autumn leaves, waterfalls or quieter forest roads, but they need longer transfers from Dandong city.
Islands, Seafood and East Port
Dalu Island, Zhangdao, Donggang and the Yellow Sea side are tempting because they change the trip from border-river to sea-air. Treat every island plan as conditional. Boat schedules, quick boats, insurance, luggage, tide, wind, fog and return seats matter more than a fixed wish list. For three days, use day one for the Broken Bridge, Yalu River Park, the memorial hall, Jinjiangshan Park and Moon Island. Use day two for Fenghuang Mountain if the weather is stable. Use day three for Hushan Great Wall and either Donggang seafood or a slower city walk. For four days, add Qingshangou, Tianqiaogou or Dalu Island only when transfers and weather are reliable.
Transport and Stay
Dandong Station handles high-speed rail toward Shenyang, Dalian and Beijing. Langtou Airport sits toward Donggang and may save time if the flight schedule fits. In town, stay near the Yalu River for views, near the station for transfers, or in Fengcheng if Fenghuang Mountain is the main goal.
