2026 Administrative Note
This page retains “Yubei District” as a historical search label. In November 2025, Jiangbei and Yubei districts were abolished and Liangjiang New Area was established. The airport, Lianglu, Central Park, Yuelai and Longxing now belong to Liangjiang New Area, while Tongjing now belongs to Beibei District. The route below follows the current administrative geography and does not present these places as short hops within one district.
This boundary was checked on 29 August 2026 against Chongqing Municipal Government's 7 November 2025 administrative-adjustment announcement (Yu Fu Fa [2025] No. 15): https://cq.gov.cn/zwgk/zfxxgkml/szfwj/qtgw/202511/t20251107_15148513.html . The page title keeps a historical search term and should not be used to infer a current administrative address or service jurisdiction.
What This Area Is For
These places work as an arrival, convention or nearby-leisure plan. Jiangbei International Airport, Lianglu, Central Park and Yuelai suit an arrival day. Longxing needs an uninterrupted half-day. Tongjing is a separate excursion into Beibei and deserves a full day. Yuzhong night views and the Yangtze cableway lie in another direction and should not be forced into an airport-area itinerary.
Who This Route Suits
Choose this route for a spare half-day around a flight, a Yuelai convention, a low-intensity family park visit, or a dedicated day in Longxing or Tongjing. An early flight, bulky luggage, limited mobility or only a few free hours calls for the airport, Lianglu, Central Park or the hotel area. Do not compress Tongjing, Longxing, Yuzhong night views and a departure into one day.
Best Time To Go
Spring and autumn suit parks, old streets and short outdoor visits. Summer is hot, humid and storm-prone, so keep outdoor time to mornings and evenings. Winter rain and fog affect roads and views. Cancel Tongjing water, gorge and remote plans when thunderstorms, flood warnings or road problems make the route uncertain.
Choosing Sights
Central Park is useful for an arrival day or half-day, but choose one section of the large park. Longxing Ancient Town suits an unhurried walk through old streets and buildings. Read the posted access and photography rules before entering an individual interior. Tongjing Scenic Area or a hot-spring visit needs its own day and should not be combined with Central Park, Yuelai or Longxing. Bijin Park is a lower-intensity alternative near Lianglu. Confirm access, transfers and return transport before considering any other remote stop.
A Two-Day Route
On day one, choose Central Park, Bijin Park or Yuelai according to the actual arrival time. A late arrival, bulky luggage or an early flight makes the airport or Lianglu the sensible endpoint. On day two, choose Longxing for a continuous half or full day, or Tongjing for an early start with a confirmed return and weather exit. Keep a convention day close to Yuelai or the hotel.
Arrival and Cross-Area Transport
Identify the actual airport terminal, the correct square at Chongqing North, the rail entrance and the ride-hailing pickup before leaving a transport node. Use current rail and road information for the airport, Lianglu, Central Park and Yuelai. Before Longxing or Tongjing, confirm the arrival point, transfers, final return and any night lodging separately. Chongqing terrain requires time margin; do not treat a remote road as a night shortcut.
Where To Stay
Use the airport or Lianglu for a flight, Yuelai for a convention and Chongqing North for an early train. Stay near Longxing or Tongjing only when both the connection and check-in are confirmed. A hotel name containing “airport” or “north station” does not establish walking distance, so map the entrance and night-arrival route and check noise, parking, breakfast and cancellation before paying.
Food and Spending Checks
Around Lianglu or Longxing, consider Chongqing noodles, tofu pudding, dried tofu, pickled-radish duck soup, boiled fish or hotpot. State tolerance for chilli, Sichuan pepper, peanuts, sesame and offal and ask whether a separate pot is possible. Confirm portions, waiting time and displayed prices for shared dishes. For dried tofu or pickles, check production information, shelf life, refrigeration and portability.
For a serious allergy, ask about stock, sauces, marinades, frying oil and cross-contact through shared utensils; a separate pot does not necessarily mean a separate kitchen. If staff cannot answer clearly, choose food with few ingredients that is cooked to order or leave. One meal is not worth testing an uncertain exposure.
Booking and On-Site Rules
Secure flights, trains and cancellable lodging first; book Tongjing hot springs, boats or date-specific activities next; leave meals and replaceable parks until last. Use official or authorised channels to verify the date, inclusions, child rules, clothing, cancellation and suspension handling. Current notices govern access, photography and commercial activity in religious buildings, old towns and parks.
Trip Costs
List the airport or station transfer, lodging, cross-area vehicle, admission or hot-spring product, and meals separately. Compare the total of staying at a transport base and making day trips with the cost of one night near the distant stop. A charter quote should state waiting, parking, return and overtime; a hot-spring, boat or package price should state exactly what it includes. Keep a reserve for a flight, road or weather change that creates a new transfer, rebooking or extra night.
Hot Springs, Water and Family Safety
Join a Tongjing or other water activity only when weather, water level, operations and health all allow it. Do not drink alcohol before entering water or a hot spring. Children need close adult supervision and must meet the posted age, height, health and lifesaving rules. Travellers using a stroller or with limited mobility should ask about entrances, toilets, slopes and transfers and keep an indoor meal or hotel return available.
Rain, Suspension and Return Decisions
Skip gorges, water activities and long township transfers in rain or fog. Before leaving the city, switch to Central Park, Bijin Park or a rest near the transport node. After reaching Tongjing, follow the operator's return arrangement if an activity closes; do not wait for an uncertain reopening or use an unregulated water activity. Delays, road interruptions, illness, an uncertain last service or a tight departure window make baggage collection and station entry more important than another park or remote stop.
Before You Leave
Recheck flight or train status, the hotel entrance, last rail and shuttle services, reservations, weather warnings, roads and water-activity notices. Keep booking records, cancellation terms, the arrival point and the return pickup. Call 110 or 120 in an emergency; contact the venue, transport operator or local official service channel first for operating or consumer help.
Common Planning Mistakes
- Treating the historical page label "Yubei District" as a current administrative address.
- Assuming a hotel with "airport" or "north station" in its name is walkable from the correct entrance.
- Treating Tongjing, Longxing and Central Park as one compact cluster.
- Paying from an old timetable, ticket screenshot or package description without checking the travel date.
