Laojieling and other mountain areas then require checks for lightning, rockfall, flash floods and cableway changes, while the reservoir remains subject to source-water and boating controls. Choosing the Right Stops

Two Days or Longer
Keep day one in Nanyang city. For day two, choose Neixiang County Yamen, Laojieling in Xixia or the Xichuan water-source route. Neixiang provides a culture-focused day in most seasons. Laojieling needs stable weather, an early departure and a generous mountain return margin. In Xichuan, combine the canal headworks, source-water interpretation and designated reservoir viewpoints rather than chasing the shoreline. Three or four days allow Neixiang and Xixia to stand separately or an overnight in Xichuan. The dinosaur park can replace Laojieling as the family backup. A charter should state the vehicle qualification, total price, waiting, parking, cancellation and latest return point.
Where to Stay
Central Nanyang or the Nanyang East Station area is useful for the first and final nights and makes urban changes easier. The Wolonggang area protects an early Wuhou Shrine and Han Painting Museum visit, but check the real railway transfer. Neixiang County suits the yamen route, Xixia County or licensed scenic lodging suits Laojieling and the dinosaur theme, and Xichuan County is the base for the water-source route. At any remote property, verify heating or air conditioning, breakfast, parking, the real entrance distance and weather cancellation. A Funiu resort or reservoir-view label does not establish location.
