Is Suizhou Right for This Trip?
For archaeology and museum travelers: Use Suizhou Museum, the open Leigudun exhibition spaces and the Yan Emperor site as a coherent first day. Objects connected with Marquis Yi of Zeng are distributed across different museum institutions and changing exhibitions. Check the current display rather than assume that one named original will always be in Suizhou.
For a relaxed weekend: Two days are practical. Stay in central Suizhou for the culture day, then choose Dahong Mountain or Ginkgo Valley on day two.
For travelers with a fixed same-day train: Keep the trip urban. The Yan Emperor site, Ginkgo Valley and Dahong Mountain are not adjacent city stops, and the rural return is more important than adding another attraction.

Dahong Mountain: Choose it outside the ginkgo window or when mountain scenery is the priority. Confirm the visitor entrance, open route, scenic transport, weather and return before leaving the city.

Luoyang Town or Ginkgo Valley: This suits a deliberate seasonal stay. During peak color, check vehicle access, room noise, breakfast, night lighting and the next day's return.
Eating and Buying Local Products
Central Suizhou offers the most reliable meal choice. Paopaoqing greens, mushroom dishes, beef noodles and local home cooking are useful menu leads, not a mandatory checklist. Eat breakfast before a rural day and establish the main meal stop in advance. Travelers with allergies or dietary restrictions should ask about stock, seasoning and shared utensils.
For mushrooms, tea, processed ginkgo products and crafts, check the producer, ingredients, date, storage and after-sales terms. Ask for the pricing unit, net weight, packaging charge and shipping conditions before buying loose products. Folk practice is not a safety standard for ginkgo nuts; do not gather, eat raw or buy a large quantity when the source and preparation cannot be verified.

Avoid a vague “all-inclusive Suizhou package.” A safer order is:

Do not rely on a fixed historical price. Admission, shuttle transport, performances and activities may be separate products even when they share one destination name.

Ordinary rain: Keep the museum and confirmed-open indoor parts of the Yan Emperor site. Remove a long Ginkgo Valley walk and the higher parts of Dahong Mountain.
Thunderstorms, fog, ice or road controls: Cancel the mountain or rural segment and remain in central Suizhou. Use the original payment channel for refunds or changes; do not seek an unofficial entrance.
