Around the Grand Canal National Cultural Park at Yuanbao Island, spring and autumn are best for walking beside the water and through public areas. Summer can be humid with thunderstorms; the Shi Family Courtyard or another indoor cultural venue fits the hottest hours. Winter wind along the Grand Canal in Xiqing makes long waterfront evenings less comfortable. Lunar New Year and Lantern Festival events are central to Yangliuqing's identity, yet dates, reservations, traffic restrictions and performance sites change every year. Plan a festival trip only from the current Xiqing District and attraction notices, not from an old event listing.
