At Fairy Lake, older travelers and young children should confirm the distance to the pier, boarding steps, shade and the actual island route before buying a boat ticket. A Fairy Lake boat excursion should remain optional when accessibility information is unclear.
Best Time to Visit
Spring and autumn are the easiest seasons for walking beside Fairy Lake. Summer at Fairy Lake brings lush scenery and warm-weather activities, but heat, afternoon thunderstorms and strong winds can interrupt boats and exposed outdoor plans. Winter in Xinyu is quieter and can feel damp and cold; some Fairy Lake activities may operate differently by season.

Use the first day in Xinyu for Baoshi Park, the city center and a Fairy Lake weather check for the following morning. Visit Fairy Lake early on day two and protect the afternoon journey back to town.
